FAQ
Can I use my HSA to pay for therapy?
Yes, HSAs (health savings accounts) and FSAs (flexible spending accounts) are both acceptable forms of payment.
If I have insurance can I still choose to self-pay?
Yes, if for any reason you are not comfortable submitting information to your insurance company I can provide you with an Insurance Opt-out Form and once signed you can proceed with paying out-of-pocket for counseling.
How do I know if I am eligible for sliding scale services?
If you cannot afford to pay the full rate for therapy due to being uninsured, underinsured, or due to low income please inform me on our introductory phone call. When needed, I work with a nonprofit organization that assesses clients' financial circumstances to determine eligibility for a reduced session cost. This allows me to provide this service to clients with a true financial need without you having to share personal financial information with me, as well as allows me to set a session fee that is fair for each client's individual situation. Please note that I have a limited number of sliding scale spots available at any given time. I will inform you on our introductory phone call if I do not currently have an opening available.
Do you offer superbills?
Yes, I can provide you with a superbill which you can then choose to submit to your insurance company yourself or you can choose to have Thrizer (a payment platform I use with embedded out-of-network billing support) submit superbills for you.
